How to prepare deep-fried avocados




Ingredients:

  • 3 pcs. avocado
  • 1 pcs. egg
  • 1.50 cups almond flour
  • 1.50 cups vegetable oil with a high smoke point (such as organic sunflower oil)
  • ¼ teaspoon. Cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon. salt
  • 2 table. spoon. homemade mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon. Sriracha (or Chili Sauce)

Steps to follow:

  • In a bowl, combine almond flour with salt and cayenne pepper.
  • Peel the avocado, cut it into halves and remove the pits. Cut each half of the avocado vertically into 4-5 slices, depending on the size of the fruit.
  • Preheat a deep fryer or deep skillet with plenty of oil. The temperature should be about 180 C. If you do not have a thermometer at hand, you can check the temperature of the oil in the following way: dip a wooden spoon or spatula into the oil, if the spoon is surrounded by bubbles, then the oil has warmed up sufficiently. It takes about 5-8 minutes to heat up.
  • In a bowl, lightly beat the chicken egg. Dip each piece of avocado in an egg. Then roll the avocado in the almond flour until it is densely coated.
  • Carefully dip each avocado slice in the heated oil. Cook each avocado bite or batch for 45-60 seconds, until light brown.
  • Remove the avocado with a slotted spoon and transfer to a plate with paper towels to absorb the excess oil.
  • Serve deep-fried avocado with a mixture of chili sauce (Sriracha) and mayonnaise.
